This system paid for itself in less than 4 months Paul Tremblay Campbell Soup Co. |
Once a lift truck is equipped with a TruckStop unit, it cannot be activated until an operator presents an ID Key to a dash mounted reader. The system searches the list of valid users stored in the TCU. If the ID is found, the LED on the reader will change from red to green and the equipment will be enabled. A time and date stamped transaction is stored in the non-volatile memory of the TCU to record the activation.
What happens when an ID Key is lost ?
The system manager is able to de-program the lost key and program a new ID Key at the same time. If the lost key is found, it can be re-programmed and re-issued. If someone forgets their ID Key at home, they can sign for a spare key that is already programmed into the system.
Can TruckStop be easily by-passed by the operator ?
No. In order to by-pass TruckStop, it must be un-installed by a trained technician.
Is TruckStop weatherproof ?Yes. TruckStop is rated as weatherproof and has even passed power washing tests.
How does the information travel between TruckStop and the computer ?TruckStop uses an electronic Program/Audit key, similar to a user ID Key. The program/audit key is the portable data transfer device that is used to transport data between TruckStop and the computer.
How long does it take to learn how to use TruckStop? As a User, it takes less than one minute to learn how to work the ID Key with the reader. As the System Manager, it will take less than an hour to learn all the basics of TruckStop.
Can TruckStop be used on anything else ?
Yes. It can be used on any product that has an engine with 12 volts D.C. or any electric product that uses 12-48 volts D.C. In addition, the ID Key can be used for building access as well as time and attendance. This means that one ID Key can be used on doors, equipment, machinery, and vehicles.
How long does it take to install TruckStop?
TruckStop hardware has been installed in as little as fifty minutes. However, it depends on the equipment and the ability of the installer. On average, you should plan on two to three hours to complete an installation.
Can TruckStop be used to perform Lock-out, Tag-out ( LOTO ) for when equipment is unsafe to operate?Yes. TruckStop can be reprogrammed to a
maintenance lock-out mode so only service technicians can operate the product in question.
